With hot weather coming, saving on energy costs can be a challenge.

    Consider using blinds, awnings, solar film on windows, and natural vegetation to manage heat and light. Let light and heat in during the winter and keep it out during the summer.

  • Keep Air Moving

    Use fans to keep air moving and maintain a comfortable level of humidity.

  • Plug Leaks

    Use weather stripping and caulking to seal any areas where air may be escaping. You will then be able to better manage your ventilation and keep the air that has been cooled (or heated) inside.

  • Temperature Control

    During summer months, adjusting your thermostat up one degree typically can save 2-3% on cooling costs. Adjust thermostats higher when cooling and lower when heating unoccupied areas within a building (e.g. during weekends and non-working hours).
